One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays.
If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing one of these lower-salaried options into your lineup.
Let's take a look at some players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup on FanDuel tonight, using numberFire's daily fantasy basketball projections as a guide.
Lamar Stevens, PF, Cavaliers ($4,000)
Jarrett Allen is out tonight for the Cleveland Cavaliers, which should keep Lamar Stevens in the starting five.
Stevens started and played 30 minutes last time out, racking up 22.2 FanDuel points. It was a fine output, but he has a chance for a much bigger night tonight in a date with the Charlotte Hornets.
Charlotte has struggled on the glass all year, and they'll be sans Mark Williams in this one. They've given up the third-most FanDuel points per game to power forwards this season (47.7) as well as the fourth-most over the last 30 days (47.8).
In line for big minutes in a dope matchup, Stevens is an excellent value play. We project him for 22.3 FanDuel points -- 5.57 per $1,000.
Deni Avdija, SF/PF, Wizards ($5,200)
Deni Avdija is another nice value pick who benefits from an injury situation.
Kyle Kuzma is going to miss tonight's game, and that's a lift for Avdija's outlook. With Kuzma off the floor this season, Deni sports a 17.4% usage rate and produces 0.84 FanDuel points per minute, according to CourtIQ. Avdija has logged at least 27 minutes in each of his past four starts.
The Washington Wizards are hosting a tanking Detroit Pistons team that will likely be missing most of its best players. As such, the Wiz have a gaudy 118.25-point implied total.
We forecast Avdija to score 29.2 FanDuel points across 32 minutes and rate him as the slate's premier point-per-dollar play (as of early Tuesday afternoon).
Devonte' Graham, PG, Spurs ($5,600)
Tre Jones, Romeo Langford and Malaki Branham will be sidelined tonight for the San Antonio Spurs, and that should mean a start and big minutes for Devonte' Graham.
There's also a chance Jeremy Sochan and Keldon Johnson -- who are listed as questionable -- sit out, but even if those two play, I'm loving Graham's upside at this modest salary.
Graham has played at least 28 minutes in each of his past four starts. He's put up 15 and 16 shots over his previous two starts -- including 23 total three-point tries -- amassing 34.4 and 29.1 FanDuel points in those games.
A matchup with the Orlando Magic fits Graham's game. Orlando has allowed the second-most three-point attempts per game to opposing backcourts (18.7). This clash has a 232.5-point total and 5.5-point spread. It's a great one to prioritize.
Our model has Graham going for 26.4 FanDuel points (4.71 per $1,000). There's upside for a lot more if his jumper is falling.
