Pat Connaughton shapes up as the best-projected value in numberFire's model by a long shot. He's got a value rating (i.e. FanDuel points projection per $1,000) of 5.92 in a matchup against the Chicago Bulls.
Connaughton's Milwaukee Bucks hold a top-five implied team total, thanks to their status as 4.5-point favorites in a game with a nice 232.0-point over/under.
Connaughton is being projected for 30.2 minutes tonight, which would be a season-high. He started on Christmas Day, his first start of the year, and in that game, he played 29.5 minutes and accrued 27.3 FanDuel points, both season-bests.
Malik Monk, SG, Sacramento Kings
FanDuel Salary: $4,600
Malik Monk has had a pretty steady role off the bench for the Sacramento Kings and now faces a Denver Nuggets squad that ranks only 25th in defensive rating.
Monk, in games against teams outside the top 10 defensively, has averaged a robust 1.02 FanDuel points per minute across 24.4 minutes for 24.8 fantasy points per game.
He's projected for 23.2 minutes tonight, and that's enough to consider rostering him, especially in Nuggets/Kings stacks.
Thomas Bryant, C, Los Angeles Lakers
FanDuel Salary: $5,700
Thomas Bryant will keep on starting for the Los Angeles Lakers while Anthony Davis is out. LeBron James is also questionable.
Bryant has now started eight games, and in them, he's averaged 27.6 minutes and 28.1 FanDuel points (1.02 per minute).
The Miami Heat are a top-10 defense by defensive rating but also allow a league-average number of rebounds.
Bryant, via CourtIQ, has averaged 1.15 FanDuel points per minute without both Davis and James on the floor this season and 1.08 without Davis.
Killian Hayes, PG, Detroit Pistons
FanDuel Salary: $6,000
I'm going back up to the brink of value for Killian Hayes in a matchup against the Orlando Magic, who are only 20th in defensive rating.
Hayes has a 20.5% usage rate and a per-minute average of 0.95 FanDuel points when not sharing the floor with Cade Cunningham.
In his 23 starts, Hayes has averaged 29.4 minutes and 28.8 FanDuel points on a per-minute output of 0.98 fantasy points.
Jonathan Kuminga, SF, Golden State Warriors
FanDuel Salary: $4,500
The Golden State Warriors are playing coy with the official injury report today, but we can assume that there's a lot of opportunity open here for Jonathan Kuminga and the rest of the Dubs.
Stephen Curry and Andrew Wiggins are certainly out, and Klay Thompson is doubtful.
Kuminga's usage rate is a nice 19.6% without those three on the floor across a 275.6-minute sample. Although Kuminga doesn't usually slide into the starting lineup, in 13 games with at least 20 minutes played, he has averaged 27.9 minutes and 25.3 FanDuel points (0.91 per minute).
