Jimmy Butler Over 5.5 Assists (-128)
In the final few days of the season, player props can be tough to judge but Jimmy Butler offers one tonight.
The Miami Heat are sitting in the 7 seed for the Eastern Conference Playoff race but aren't locked in yet. There is a chance they can move up to the 6 seed, which would get them out of the play-in games and into the playoffs. That is a huge level of motivation we don't see for many teams at this point in the season and gives us a clear spot to target.
With all of that said, Butler should see a full set of minutes tonight, and with a tight 2.5-point spread against the Philadelphia 76ers, we should be in for plenty of back-and-forth action. Butler has been over this 5.5 mark in four of his last five games, which shouldn't be a surprise since he is producing 8.65 assists per 36 minutes with Miami's current starting lineup.
Motivation to win is tough to come by at this point in the season, but Butler and the Heat have plenty of it tonight.
Josh Giddey Over 6.5 Assists (-104)
With a slate-high 239.5-point total, the Oklahoma City Thunder and Utah Jazz should see plenty of scoring tonight.
The Thunder are holding down the final play-in spot for the Western Conference, making them another team with the motivation to play and win. Given the fact both teams are in the top 10 of the league in offensive pace, the scoring should come early and often tonight, giving Josh Giddey plenty of chances to rack up the assists.
The Jazz are allowing 24.8 assists per game from their opponents, putting them as the seventh-worst team in the league. Giddey has a strong 26.9% offensive usage rate and will be heavily involved in the Thunder's offense production. That has been shown recently; Giddey has hit the over on this prop in three of his last five games.
