One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays.
If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing one of these lower-salaried options into your lineup.
Let's take a look at some players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup on FanDuel tonight, using numberFire's daily fantasy basketball projections as a guide.
Jonathan Kuminga, SF, Warriors ($4,100)
Jonathan Kuminga started last night with Andrew Wiggins out, and Wiggins is going to be out again today. That makes Kuminga a top-notch value play in a dope matchup with the Houston Rockets.
Houston owns the third-worst defensive rating and has been a great team to pick on in DFS this campaign. The Rockets have surrendered the fourth-most FanDuel points per game to small forwards (42.8), and the Golden State Warriors sport a sky-high 121.0-point implied total.
Kuminga got 22 minutes last night and has logged at least 22 minutes in four of his last six games. We project him to play 25.7 minutes in this one and have him generating 23.1 FanDuel points -- good for 5.61 per $1,000.
Mark Williams, C, Hornets ($5,700)
The best game environment on the slate in the Charlotte Hornets-Minnesota Timberwolves clash, which features a 241.0-point total and 6.5-point spread.
Mark Williams has really come on of late. He's played at least 29 minutes in three of his past four games, and in those three games, he's racked up 35.0, 32.0 and 31.4 FanDuel points. Williams' interior D should be needed tonight against Rudy Gobert, so he should be in line for plenty of minutes.
Our model projects Williams for 27.9 minutes and 30.5 FanDuel points (5.23 per $1,000). The lone negative with him is that he's eligible at only center.
Jevon Carter, PG/SG, Bucks ($3,800)
Editor's note: Since publication, Giannis Antetokounmpo has been upgraded to questionable. Giannis suiting up would ding Carter's outlook.
The Milwaukee Bucks are expected to be without Giannis Antetokounmpo, which makes them a go-to value target. Pat Connaughton is also likely out.
That should result in Jevon Carter starting and seeing big minutes. Carter started in the Bucks' most recent game and totaled 39.2 FanDuel points in 32 minutes.
While we can't count on him to repeat his 9-of-13 shooting from that one, Carter can have success in a matchup with the Miami Heat. Miami has permitted a league-high 42.3% three-point attempt rate over the last 15 games, and that meshes with Carter's strengths as he's a 41.7% shooter from deep this season.
At a projection of 23.8 FanDuel points (6.26 per $1,000), Carter figures to be a popular value piece, but he looks like chalk worth eating on this slate.
