One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays.
If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing one of these lower-salaried options into your lineup.
Let's take a look at some players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup on FanDuel tonight, using numberFire's daily fantasy basketball projections as a guide.
Edmond Sumner, PG/SG, Brooklyn Nets
FanDuel Salary: $5,300
The Brooklyn Nets are still thin on bodies for tonight's game due to injuries and trades. In their game last night, only five players played more than 21 minutes, and Sumner's total was 32.6.
He scored 36.5 FanDuel points, thus giving him two straight games with at least that many (he had 39.9 in his prior game).
Though Cameron Thomas ($6,500) is stealing the headlines because of his high-volume shooting and scoring, Sumner remains a pure value play on FanDuel.
Over 198.4 minutes with Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and Seth Curry off the floor this season, Sumner has averaged 1.12 FanDuel points per minute on a 22.7% usage rate, via CourtIQ.
Isaiah Hartenstein, PF/C, New York Knicks
FanDuel Salary: $5,000
The New York Knicks are without Mitchell Robinson, and in 17 games without Robinson, Isaiah Hartenstein has just six starts but also has averaged 24.0 minutes per game.
That has led to a line of 5.7 points, 8.1 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.5 combined steals and blocks for a total of 21.0 FanDuel points per game. That's 0.88 FanDuel points per minute, on par with his usual rate of 0.90.
Tonight, Hartenstein is projected for 27.7 minutes and 28.5 FanDuel points, good for a projection of 5.70 FanDuel points per $1,000. That's second only to Sumner's value projection on the slate (as of Tuesday afternoon).
Xavier Tillman, PF/C, Memphis Grizzlies
FanDuel Salary: $5,300
The Memphis Grizzlies are going to be thin in the frontcourt with Steven Adams out.
In 11 games with Adams out, Tillman has earned five starts and has averaged 23.6 minutes per game along with an average output of 24.5 FanDuel points. That's 1.04 FanDuel points per minute for Tillman in games without Adams.
The Chicago Bulls are about an average defense overall, and they're right at the league average in rebounds per game allowed, too.
Tillman is projected for 10.2 points and 7.1 rebounds as the base toward a game with 26.7 projected FanDuel points.
