Here are our favorite NBA prop bets for Friday, March 3 (odds provided by DraftKings Sportsbook):
Portland Trail Blazers at Atlanta Hawks (-7, 240.5)
Tonight’s meeting between the Blazers and Hawks has the highest point total of any game on the board, so we’re expecting this one to turn into a track meet. If that happens, it’s hard to envision Lillard not dishing out at least seven assists — even with him looking for his shot more than ever these days.
According to our Daily Prop Analyzer, the Over is 27-22 when Lillard has played with an assist total this low (since we started tracking). That’s a 55.1 percent success rate and you’d have to think he has an even better shot than that of hitting with the way this game is projected to play out.
Lillard also happened to have zero assists against the New Orleans Pelicans last game, and the Blazers ended up losing that contest. Chauncey Billups will drive that point home tonight, and Lillard should respond by doing a better job of finding opportunities for his teammates.
Bet: Lillard Over 6.5 Assists (-150)
Memphis Grizzlies at Denver Nuggets (-5, 234)
Jokic faced this Grizzlies defense on Saturday and had only 15 points in what ended up being a blowout win for Memphis. The big man will need to be more aggressive as a scorer this time around, and we think the MVP frontrunner is aware of that. Jokic loves to get his teammates involved as much as possible, but there needs to be a healthy balance. And as the leader of his team, he needs to go out and set the tone in what should be a dramatic Friday night matchup.
Jokic also happens to be averaging 24.9 points per game when playing at home this season, and he should feed off the crowd a bit here. That should help him go out and hit this Over, which really isn’t all that high. All it will take is a couple of minutes of Jokic looking to get his own buckets for this to hit.
All in all, 23.5 is a number that superstars like this should be able to hit with regularity, and Jokic is no exception to that.
Bet: Jokic Over 23.5 Points (-115)
Minnesota Timberwolves at Los Angeles Lakers (-1, 227.5)
Since LeBron James went down with a foot injury, the Lakers have been going all in on Anthony Davis. The big man has responded by averaging 29.0 points, 17.0 rebounds, 4.0 blocks and 2.0 assists per game. On paper, Davis does have a tough matchup tonight, as Rudy Gobert is still one of the best defensive bigs in basketball. But this is a game in which Davis should still be able to dominate, which is why we’re playing the Over on his points, rebounds and assists combo.
Over the last two games, Davis is averaging 48.0 total points, rebounds and assists per game, so this total of 43.5 actually looks like it’s on the lower side. These teams are both in the Top 5 of the league when it comes to pace of play, which means Davis should be able to rack up offensive stats with some extra possessions.
Overall, we just know Davis is capable of putting up monster numbers when leaned on, and he looks like he could be a profitable player to ride down the stretch.
Bet: Davis Over 43.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-110)
