5 NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on Thursday 1/12/23

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays.

If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing one of these lower-salaried options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at some players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup on FanDuel tonight, using numberFire's daily fantasy basketball projections as a guide.

Gabe Vincent, PG/SG, Miami Heat
Victor Oladipo, SG/PG, Miami Heat

Vincent FanDuel Salary: $4,100
Oladipo FanDuel Salary: $5,800

You may not believe this, but the Miami Heat have a long injury list. They're listing Kyle Lowry, Tyler Herro, and Caleb Martin -- among others -- as out.

That'll pave the way for value for a few options, namely Gabe Vincent and Victor Oladipo with Vincent drawing the start at point guard.

In his two starts this season, Vincent has averaged 35.0 minutes and 19.6 FanDuel points. He's numberFire's top projected value play for the night despite a game with a slate-low total of 217.5 points.

As for Oladipo, he's projected for 32.0 minutes and 28.8 FanDuel points. In seven games with at least 30 minutes played, Oladipo has averaged 31.1 fantasy points and 0.93 per minute.

T.J. Warren, SF/PF, Brooklyn Nets

FanDuel Salary: $4,900

T.J. Warren has a nice value rating tonight and is expected to play 28.5 minutes against the Boston Celtics. In eight games with 20-plus minutes, Warren has averaged 24.7 FanDuel points, good for 1.01 per minute.

The Brooklyn Nets and Celtics are in a game with a good overall scoring environment and a tight spread, too. And Kevin Durant is out.

Without KD on the floor this season, Warren has a 20.8% usage rate, via CourtIQ, but it's more about the extended minutes. The 28.5-minute projection is a big jump from his 19.9 per game.

Anfernee Simons, SG/PG, Portland Trail Blazers

FanDuel Salary: $6,000

Damian Lillard is questionable for tonight's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, a tough defense, but even with Lillard still projected for big minutes, Anfernee Simons is rating out as a good value play.

That would only improve without Lillard.

Via CourtIQ, Simons has a 31.1% usage rate and a per-minute average of 1.01 FanDuel points without Lillard on the floor.

He's a good play either way, but he really gets a boost if Lillard were to miss.

Tim Hardaway Jr., SG/SF, Dallas Mavericks

FanDuel Salary: $5,200

We can roster Tim Hardaway Jr. in the game with the highest total of the night (235.5) with a tight spread (3.0 points) at a $5,200 salary.

Hardaway Jr. has started 23 straight games in which he was active, and across his total starts this season, he has averaged 32.7 minutes and 25.0 FanDuel points (just 0.77 per minute).

But the Los Angeles Lakers are just 17th in defensive rating, and against mid-tier defenses, Hardaway Jr. has averaged 0.87 FanDuel points per minute in seven starts.
