In MLS action, a heavy Saturday schedule sees 22 of 28 clubs competing for ground in the MLS standings. We’ll focus on the New York Red Bulls’ visit to Cincinnati, the Montreal Impact welcoming Sporting Kansas City to Stade Saputo, and the San Jose Earthquakes coming to Canada for battle against Toronto FC. Today’s action starts at 1 pm with a clash between NYC and New England and ends with a 10 pm Western Conference showdown between Real Salt Lake and the Colorado Rapids.
FC Cincinnati (+160) vs New York Red Bulls (+155)
Cincinnati has won three of their last four outings against the Red Bulls but dropped their most recent decision in a 1-0 result. Losing both games at home, they’ll look to snap that streak tonight when they welcome a New York team that has dominated on the road. Cincinnati sits in a three-way tie for fifth in the Eastern Conference and has reached 25 points on the year, a club franchise record.

With their sixth road win last Sunday, New York leads the league in that category and is tied with Austin FC for the best record as the away team. The Red Bulls have led the MLS in road wins three times in franchise history, winning seven in 2002 and eight in both 2000 and 2018. Watch out for Aaron Long tonight, especially during free kicks and corners, as he’s scored 11 career MLS goals in those situations. The Red Bulls are slight favourites for their established road warrior status, so take them to win tonight.
CF Montreal (-135) vs Sporting Kansas City (+350)
Fresh off a 4-0 loss to the LA Galaxy, the Impact are searching for a response when they welcome the team with the league’s worst record. Montreal’s 4-0 loss was just the seventh time in club history that they dropped a decision by four or more goals and the first since 2019. It was only the third time this season where they were held scoreless, and likely something they’ll look to avoid tonight. Ahead of the game, they’ll honour former captain Mauro Biello.
Kansas City has a sliver of hope as they have lost just once in eight games against the Impact. They last played in 2019, when Kansas ripped apart an Impact defense, ending the game in a 7-1 result, scoring the most goals in a single game. They’re also coming off a loss last Sunday, a 1-0 defeat at the hands of the Red Bulls. It was their 11th loss of the season, and hopes of making the playoffs this year seem almost out of reach. With a road record of 1-7-2 and the Impact sitting in third in the East, expect Montreal to come out strong and never look back.
Toronto FC (+115) vs San Jose Earthquakes (+195)
Toronto’s season of misery continued on Saturday, losing 2-0 against Seattle and dropping their eighth contest in their last 11 games. They’ve only lost at this rate once in franchise history, in 2012, when they also lost 11 of 18 games. They finished that year in 10th place in the Eastern Conference, suffering 21 defeats, which holds as their single-worst season in franchise history. Dating back to last season, Toronto is on a 26-match winless streak, tying the sixth-longest record in MLS history.
Despite Toronto’s struggle, no team is hurting more than San Jose when they take the road. The Earthquakes stumbled out of the gate this year, going 0-6-2 while on the road. They ended a three-match losing streak against Toronto in 2019 and have since gone unbeaten in three games. Toronto may be the team they can take down and earn their first road win, but a draw seems more fitting between the two struggling clubs. If you had to decide between one or the other, lean towards the Earthquakes for a slightly larger return.
