In MLS action today, 10 games are scheduled for a busy Saturday night. The Colorado Rapids look to deliver Orlando City its third loss in four games when they welcome them into Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. New York City FC visits FC Dallas in an inter-conference showdown as they battle for position in their respective conference’s top five. Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Galaxy play host to the San Jose Earthquakes as they look to stay afloat in a tight race in the West.
Colorado Rapids (-135) vs Orlando City (+320)
The Rapids’ recent back-to-back home losses come as a surprise to most, as they’ve dominated while in front of their fans. They went unbeaten in 23 games beforehand, winning 14 and drawing nine, but allowed three goals in both of their recent losses. Colorado is 1-1-1 against Orlando while at home and won their most recent encounter in 2020. They should be riding some momentum after overcoming a 2-0 deficit against Real Salt Lake last Saturday, scoring two goals in the second half to force a draw.

Orlando is 3-2-4 this season as the away team and is coming off a defeat in Cincinnati last month. They’re one of the better road clubs in the league, serving as one of the teams with the least amount of losses this year. Orlando’s most recent victory came off the foot of one of the opposing team’s players, making the 1-0 win a first in MLS history. They enter tonight’s contest as heavy underdogs and could add to Colorado’s recent road struggles, but one shouldn’t count on it. Colorado has a good history of bouncing back from tough losses, so take them to walk away with three points tonight.
FC Dallas (+140) vs New York City FC (+170)
FC Dallas did all they could to leave Houston with a victory, but a tying goal in the 11th minute of extra time left them stunned. It was the second-latest goal in MLS history, forcing their winless streak to five games and preventing them from drawing even with Salt Lake in the standings. They’re 1-1-4 in six meetings between the two clubs and have played New York City quite well at both ends of the pitch.
They may not always have the luxury of multiple penalties in a game, but there’s no denying New York City’s success this season. New York became the first club in MLS history to draw three penalties in a single game, scoring on two to secure a 4-2 victory against New England on Saturday. They struggled in June, going 0-1-2 in three games after not allowing a single goal in May. FC Dallas is a solid home team and will capitalize on New York’s 2-3-2 away record, so consider going with them for tonight’s contest.
Los Angeles Galaxy (-160) vs San Jose Earthquakes (+360)
If the Galaxy want to walk away with a win tonight, they’ll need to prevent their opponents from scoring three goals. Recent trends suggest that when Los Angeles allows three or more goals in a game, they don’t stand a chance. They’re 0-5-0 in this situation while holding a record of 8-2-3 when they hold their opponents to two goals or less. With three points separating six clubs, every game matters, and the Galaxy can’t afford any more hiccups if they hope to land a top-three spot in their conference.
In four of their last seven visits to Los Angeles, the Earthquakes have walked away victorious. They took down the Galaxy 2-1 in their previous meeting last August but have never won back-to-back games against Los Angeles on the road. They have not won while on the road this season, going 0-6-3 despite keeping most games within one goal. They’re heavy underdogs tonight, and we don’t expect them to overcome the odds. Take LA for the easy victory tonight and consider going with the over for goals (02.5, -250).
