In tonight’s MLS action, the Seattle Sounders and Toronto FC will meet for the first time since 2019, when the Sounders defeated Toronto 3-1 to win the MLS Cup. Seattle has also won all three meetings, dating back to 2017. Meanwhile, LAFC aims to continue their near-perfect season as they visit the Vancouver Whitecaps. They defeated Vancouver in March, snapping a four-game losing streak against the club.
Toronto FC (+155) vs Seattle Sounders FC (+160)
Toronto’s 2-1 loss against the Columbus Crew dropped them down to 12th place in the Eastern Conference with a record of 6-7-3. They’ve allowed at least one goal in 25 consecutive matches, making it the seventh-longest streak in MLS history. Should they allow one tonight, they’ll tie the 26-game streak set by Columbus back in 2019. Alejandro Pozuelo was exceptional in defeat, earning an assist and setting up six chances.

On the other side of the pitch, the Sounders sit in seventh place in the Western Conference with a 7-7-2 record. Like Toronto, they, too, lost 2-1, and they haven’t fared well on the road. Since last October, Seattle has won just two of 11 road games, finishing with one clean sheet during that span. Jordan Morris scored the lone goal in the loss against the Montreal Impact, scoring in back-to-back games for the second time in his career. While the Sounders aren’t a great road team, it’s hard to ignore Toronto’s mediocre season. Go with Seattle to win this one and lean towards the under for goals (U2.5, +120).
Vancouver Whitecaps FC (+200) vs Los Angeles Football Club (+120)
The Whitecaps have gone on a fantastic run since returning to BC Place last August, winning 15 of 17 games. They’re undefeated in the previous five games, ending their most recent match in a 0-0 draw against New England. It was also the first time they failed to register a goal while playing at BC Palace since the start of the 2020 season, and they have yet to be shut out in back-to-back home games since 2019.
Unfortunately for the Whitecaps, they land a date with the best team in the league in LAFC. Los Angeles has outscored the opposition 5-1 in their previous two games and has owned the second half in 14 of 17 MLS games. Cristian Arango’s brilliance continues with his second four-game scoring streak after joining the league this season. The youth movement and recent success encouraged 37-year-old veteran Georgio Chiellini to sign with the team. He’ll only be available for the team’s July 8 game against the LA Galaxy, but they aren’t in any hurry to get him onto the pitch with the way they’re playing. Take LAFC to win tonight and go with the over for goals (02.5, -150)
